RIYADH: Prince Faisal bin Salman, chairman of the executive committee of the Charitable Society for the Care of Orphans (Insan), opened on Monday a painting exhibition of Saudi artists that was organized by Insan to raise funds for its humanitarian projects.
About 250 works of art are on display at the exhibition, which is being staged at King Abdulaziz Historical Center in Riyadh. Organizers said 40 percent of the proceeds would go to charity.
At the opening ceremony, Prince Faisal honored artist Saad Al-Obaid for organizing the exhibition and businessman Mohammed Al-Oraifi for donating 60 works of art.
Prince Faisal expressed satisfaction at the excellent response from artists. “It reflects the solidarity of our society with orphans who need our care and support,” he said.
Prince Faisal thanked Riyadh Gov. Prince Salman and his deputy Prince Sattam for their generous support. “As a result of this support Insan has become a charitable edifice taking care of more than 30,000 orphans in Riyadh province,” the prince said.
Saleh bin Abdullah Al-Yousuf, director general of Insan, stressed the organization’s efforts to diversify its revenue sources.
