The 10-day exhibition has been organized by the Chinese Consulate General to mark the 20th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Saudi Arabia. Besides pictures showing developments in China, the exhibition also contains some historical photographs of Saudi Arabia.
The Chinese consul general, said the photographs on display, numbering over 50, feature the history of the People’s Republic of China since its establishment in 1947 and also the achievements realized following reforms in 1978.
“Through these pictures, we want to tell the world about the achievements and progress that has taken place in China,” he told Arab News.
China has established a number of giant projects including the northern forest which is 8,000 km long and 400 to 700 km wide. Pointing toward photographs featuring in the project, Wang said this is the largest project of its kind in the world to restore ecology and environment.

He also drew attention to pictures showing the high living standards of the people of China. He said people of different races and religions live in complete harmony and enjoy full freedom including freedom to elect representatives to Parliament and local councils.
