Deloitte’s ‘Middle East Point of View’ provides insight on talent, education, oil industry, security breaches, economies of cancer and many other imminent topics.
“Labor policies in the Middle East should ensure sustainable opportunities for nationals that offer security against economic fluctuations. At the rate of 23 percent, unemployment among 15-24 year olds in the Middle East is the second highest in the world,” Rachid Bachir, Director, Public Policy, Consulting, at Deloitte, Middle East in his article titled “wanted a national labor force” said.
“Delivering a skilled national workforce is one of the most critical challenges from an economic security and social inclusion perspective. By coordinating a positive and dynamic relationship between regional labor policies and economic policies, long-term economic stability and growth will build a strong and reliable foundation,” Bachir added.
Omar Fahoum, Deloitte Middle East Chairman and Chief Executive in an article about the link between talent, education and the labor market within the MENA region titled “Education and Talent — How Does MENA Score?” also touched upon the reasons behind the unemployment.

HRH Princess Dina Mired of Jordan, Director General of the King Hussein Cancer Foundation, discusses in her exclusive interview with the Deloitte Middle East Point of View the risks brought on by cancer and the very heavy price borne by the economies of the region in fighting the disease. “In corporations, cancer affects work productivity and while it may be easy to overlook the lack of productivity of one individual, it is relevant to note the cumulative effect,” she said. “If nothing is done today to stem this cancer epidemic, in the coming years, we will be faced with a workforce that is so overburdened with disease that it will be unable to function,” added Princess Dina.
