A student’s mother contacted the school’s principal objecting to the assignment the teacher had given her students, adding that she does not want her children to be involved in political issues.
The teacher had asked the students to submit assignments about their impressions of what happened in Egypt.
About 90 students had been asked to write the essay. They had also been asked to write about the Jeddah floods and design posters about it.
The school’s principal had unsuccessfully tried to convince the teacher not to ask students to write about such topics.
A source said more information about the case will be provided on Saturday since the Education Ministry offices were closed on Wednesday because of expected rains.
