HRC holds orientation program for judges, security personnel

The course is within the framework of cooperation between the HRC and judicial and security sectors with regard to human rights issues. It is also the first in a chain of similar initiatives in collaboration with other sectors of society.
The course aims to spread the concept of human rights in society in accordance with international standards and agreements. It also introduces national and international mechanisms to protect human rights and to ensure justice and equality.
It also teaches the international standards for the rights of victims, ensuring a fair trial and the means to preserve human rights.
The course also aims to identify conflicts between local and international standards when handling human rights issues.
The candidates are introduced to developments in the justice system and the human rights challenges both nationally and internationally, as well as finding ways to build national models in line with international standards and Islamic teachings.
Chairman of the commission Bandar Al-Iban stressed the importance of cooperation between the commission and the security and justice sectors, as all are concerned with preserving human rights.
