This is with reference to the article “Make hay while the sun shines” (Nov. 11) by Abdel Aziz Aluwaisheg. It was an informative article. It was good to know that contrary to the reports in the western media, Saudi Arabia is faring well economically. I do agree with the writer that the policymakers should come up with a long-term economic strategy. Due to low oil prices, it is very important for the Kingdom to take measures for the diversification of its economy.

As the writer correctly pointed out that the Saudi economy is doing well and has the strength to continue this way in the foreseeable future. But it is always good to think in the long-term. There are some issues that need to be taken care of. The writer should also try to highlight the importance of expatriate work force for the Kingdom in any of his upcoming articles.
