The members of Daesh, the self-proclaimed custodians of faith, have undoubtedly surpassed Nazi barbarism. The Nazis were driven by a sense of superiority over other human beings but these terrorists are using their skewed interpretation of Islam to justify their barbarity. We Muslims know well that our religion does not endorse the killing of innocent people. The actions of Daesh run contrary to the injunctions of Islam. A true Muslim is not even supposed to insult a fellow human being. Islam is all about peaceful coexistence and social harmony. Unfortunately, extremists are twisting the concept of Jihad to promote their interests. What exactly is the goal of these terrorist groups remains a mystery.

Majority of Muslims across the globe don’t support Daesh or its likes.

The prevailing anti-American sentiments in the Muslim world should not be mistaken as an endorsement of Daesh or Al-Qaeda. These sentiments are the result of the illegal US invasions of Iraq and Afghanistan. Those invasions have changed the entire world. The war on terror was initiated to root out terror and the terror group, Al-Qaeda. Instead of making this world free of all forms of terrorism, the global powers have transformed our planet into a living hell. Al-Qaeda may have taken a backseat but even more vicious players have entered the game and wreaking havoc in the world.

The only way to stop Daesh is to find a suitable solution to the Syrian problem. Without doing so, we cannot control the current situation. The world should act before it is too late.
