Sabria S. Jawhar in her article “Ill-informed analyses of KSA” (Feb. 25) has effectively highlighted the wrong practices of the mainstream western media. It is not just Saudi Arabia; the western media paints the entire Muslim world in a negative way. It is nothing but yellow journalism void of any ethics or journalistic rules. I also read the article in The Atlantic Magazine that basically prompted the writer to pen her views about the western reporting of Saudi Arabia. I was appalled to read that article, as it was not at all based on facts. The writers just wrote the articles based on their imaginations.

They did not even bother to cite references to back their inferences. It is nothing but professional dishonesty, which is not only unacceptable in journalism but it is also very dangerous given the current global and regional scenario. Or perhaps it was a planted article to malign Saudi Arabia and create a negative impression of the Kingdom in the West.

Saudi Arabia should launch an effective media campaign to counter the negative propaganda being spread by its foes. We cannot sit idle and allow anti-Saudi forces spread lies about the Kingdom.
