Arab News has achieved yet another milestone. Over the last 40 years, this newspaper has emerged as a very reliable source of information for readers not only in the Middle East but also across the world. Those who wish to know about the current happenings in Saudi Arabia and the Arab world, they turn to Arab News to satiate their hunger for information. Today, Arab News is celebrating its 40th anniversary and I have all the more reasons to rejoice. First of all, I am happy due to the reason that I have been reading this paper for the past four decades and continuously making my contributions through this readers’ platform. Secondly, this time around the venue chosen for the anniversary celebrations is of great importance to me.

My first letter was published in this newspaper in 1976. During those days, we did not have the luxury of the Internet and had to send our handwritten letters via ordinary mail. I have been a loyal reader of Arab News since the time it was just six-months old. I cannot describe in words my emotional attachment to this newspaper.

Arab News has come a long way. Over these decades, we have witnessed this publication getting better and better. I hope Arab News’ journey will continue in the same manner. Happy birthday Arab News.
