I can understand the Taleban’s stand on the shooting of 14-year old Malala Yousufzai that they did it, will do it again and again. I can also understand that why a number of religious scholars and leaders are shying away from publicly condemning the Taleban’s attack because they in a way condoned the action, however, kept quiet to avoid public backlash.
But I was surprised to see the reactions of some political parties such as Jamaat-e-Islami and Tahreek-e-Insaf who shamelessly tried to link it with drone attacks, tried to portray as an army’s attempt to justify action in North Waziristan and other conspiracy theories. What sort of mindset is this? These two-faced leaders are trying to create a wedge among an already confused nation which is in a state of shock over the barbarity of Taleban. — Masood Khan, Jubail
