This is with reference to the report “Cameron vows extra powers for Scotland” (May 16). Undoubtedly, British Prime Minister David Cameron’s sensible leadership totally outwitted the opposition forces in the recently concluded general elections. On the other hand, the tough lady from Scotland, Nicola Sturgeon swept the board in the north with her Nationalists party. Her party emerged as the top third force in the House of Commons after Labour.

Cameron’s wise decision is based on the ground realities. According to the proposal, Scotland would have control of over 60 percent of its spending and be one of the most powerful devolved parliaments in the world. It is believed that the secessionist party would hopefully consent to British prime minister’s proposals despite the tough SNP chief’s demand for full fiscal autonomy.
