It is painful to learn that some localities in an important city like Jeddah are constantly submerged virtually under the overflow sewage water. (“Sewage water floods Jeddah streets,” Oct. 3)

The residents in busy areas like Aziziah and Mushrifa districts continue to suffer due to this inconvenience.

Some parts of Jeddah have been flooded with sewer water intermittently for literally many decades.

This is surprising given the fact that the authorities in Saudi Arabia are known for efficient handling of events like Haj when millions of pilgrims come and they leave after having a very positive impression about the country, its traffic discipline and cleanliness

According to a Sahih Hadith, the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: “Cleanliness is half the faith.” (Muslim)
