We condemn the ugly crime committed by the terrorist group that calls itself Islamic State, which has burned alive the Jordanian pilot, Lt. Maaz Al-Kasaasbeh, as also the cold-blooded murder of Japanese journalist, Kenji Goto.

The Organization of Islamic Cooperation has rightly condemned it saying this criminality utterly disregards the rights of prisoners Islam has decreed, as well as the human moral standards for war and treatment of prisoners.

We the Muslims join the OIC Secretary General Iyad Ameen Madani in expressing our deepest condolences to the families of Al-Kasaasbeh and Goto as well as the peoples and government of their countries.

It is profoundly saddening to see the depth of malaise parts of the Middle East Region has descended to, the intellectual decay, the political fragmentation and the abuse of Islam, the great religion of mercy and its great Prophet who said that his mission is above all a moral mission.
