I read with interest the article “Iran not likely to mend its ways” (March 14) by Abdulrahman Al-Rashed. I fully agree with the views expressed by the writer. Tehran is playing a dangerous double game. People who believe that once it reaches a deal with the United States, it will change its attitude are sadly mistaken. The Iranian intervention in the Arab world should serve as a precursor to its strategy after the nuke deal, which will help create a level playing field and an environment conducive to growth. At a point, when Iran is faced with so many problems it is not hesitating in supporting its proxies in the Arab world. One could imagine its posture once it gets some breathing space.

Washington appears to be blind from the big picture. Or perhaps, it is part of its alleged strategy of reshaping the Middle East. Whatever the case might be, the Arab world should stop whining about the deal and take concrete measures to counter Iran at all levels in a befitting manner.
