This is with reference to the report “Iran Guard drill simulates capture of Al-Aqsa Mosque” (Nov. 22). It is a nice move on the part of Tehran to exploit the religious sentiments of Muslims all across the world. However, this exercise is very unlikely to emotionally move the believers, as Iran’s true face has been fully exposed. Tehran is only interested in expanding its sphere of influence at the expense of the unity of Muslims. The manner in which Iran has destroyed the social fabric in Iraq is condemnable. It is not only Syrian President Bashar Assad who is responsible for the destruction of Syria and killings and displacement of Syrians; Iran is hand in glove with Assad’s killing squads.

It is trying to drive a wedge between Sunnis and Shiites in the Arab world to revive the Persian Empire.
