The call to accelerate economic diversification is very timely and appropriate. It is not only the falling oil prices that should be seen as the main threat. Saudi Arabia is a huge country with natural resources and it has the capability to diversify its economy.

Depending heavily on oil revenues, in any case, is not a proper approach. It is very important for the Kingdom to set up industries so as to fight unemployment.

If Saudi Arabia introduces economic reforms, it will create millions of job opportunities for both Saudis and expatriates. For example, introduction of a modern public transport system across the Kingdom will help create jobs in various areas within the transport department.

The public transport system will obviously include a fleet of buses, trains etc. People will be required for their operation and maintenance. It will help boost Saudi economy.

In addition to that Saudi Arabia has huge tourism potential. This area should also be given proper attention. We should not act because oil prices are on the decline, we should take steps to further boost Saudi economy.
