I read with interest the article “Fighting Daesh in cyberspace” (Oct. 17) by Ibrahim Al-Othaimin. I endorse the views the writer has expressed in his article. Daesh should be made to have a dose of its own medicine. This brutal group is using the social media to find recruits. Special teams comprising computer experts should be formed to thwart Daesh’s efforts in the cyberspace. We cannot just sit idle because Daesh has some IT geniuses in its ranks. A tit-for-tat approach should be adopted to counter the Daesh propaganda. It should not be forgotten that most of the arguments forwarded by Daesh in support of its actions are based on flimsy grounds. A proper and logical response to Daesh literature will prove to be very effective.
