It is heartening to note that the Saudi government is leaving no stone unturned to cut down the unemployment rate among young Saudis. In order to effectively deal with this issue, a public-private partnership is required. We should not completely rely on the government. The private sector could play a huge role by offering internship programs for the Saudi youths. These programs should be designed scientifically so as to identify an internee’s strengths and weaknesses. On the basis of those findings, further programs should be introduced to groom the youths. It is not an uphill task. The corporate giants are always in a position to make such investments. These measures should be treated as part of the corporate social responsibility.
