This is with reference to the report “Firing of Saudis using ‘legal loophole’ under focus” (Nov. 10).

At least 300 Saudi engineers, according to the report, were dismissed during the training period. I agree with the report, because I have also undergone the same experience while giving training to the Saudi engineers of a certain firm in the Kingdom.

During the training period, I noticed the Saudi guys were giving least attention to the program. By the end of the training session, hardly one percent of the total number of engineers was left.

Most of these young men, if not all, have no interest in learning. They just want salary for doing nothing. The few who showed interest were quickly promoted. This makes us run short of good hands on work. I would suggest the Saudi youths to learn from the beginning and be proud of doing hard work!
