This is with reference to the report “Top executive removed as gas crisis deepens” (Feb. 4). Shortage of gas has become a nightmare for us. It is very strange to expect such a thing in Saudi Arabia. I urge the authorities to take immediate actions to end this shortage and conduct a thorough probe into the matter.

It remains unclear as to what exactly caused this shortage. Some reports claim that it is mainly due to the inadequate staff. Such an excuse is beyond logic. What does the shortage of manpower has to do with such a severe crisis?

One has to agree that lack of manpower does effect the smooth functioning of any business but the magnitude of the current crisis indicates that there is more to what meets the eye. Such practices should not at all be allowed in the Kingdom. If this is a man-made crisis, then the authorities should take strong action against the culprits.
