Only fair politics can lead India to stability, Aijaz Zaka Syed very rightly writes in his column, “Modi’s mission begins at home.” (Aug. 22)

The politics of hatred and communalism creating chaos and riotous situation not only makes certain sections of the society, mainly the minority communities, vulnerable but also seals chances of their being equal partners in the nation’s path to progress and development. And when such a situation takes place it brings stagnation to the country.

“How long will this continue?” asks Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

I believe, this question better be directed to his party men and his right wing parent organization, which he ideologically subscribes to, and which does not leave any opportunity to create ruckus against minority communities, especially Muslims.

Unless Modi keeps a check on Hindu fanatics, country’s atmosphere will remain poisonous and polluted.

Do we need to remind Modi that, if he means business, he has to rein in the fanatics who razed 400 years old Babri mosque and killed 2,000 innocent Muslims brutally under the direct supervision of police administration, and who recently disturbed the communal atmosphere in Muzaffarnagar.

In Modi’s mere two-month administration, more than 600 riots have occurred throughout the country. If this continues then we can assume what the ratio of such violence incidents will be at the end of his five-year term.

BJP’s real face came to light when Foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj sided with Israeli butchers in the killing of thousands of Muslims in Palestine. When India takes such an approach in its foreign policy it gives scant respect to its own 200 million Muslims in the country and it plays into the hands of communal elements in the country.
