This is with reference to the report “Iran to have ‘smart filtering’ soon” (Nov. 15). Such moves will only backlash in the long run. It is sad that Tehran wants to keep tabs on its own people to maintain “stability” in the country but interferes in the affairs of other countries. Iran could have played a constructive role in the region but unfortunately it has chosen the policy of making enemies. I think that Iran is a bit overconfident, which is not a healthy approach. It should realize that it couldn’t face the combined strength of its Arab neighbors. The ugly sectarian agenda it is promoting in the region will one day affect itself. What goes around comes around.
