This refers to the article “Middle East instability and global risk.” (Oct. 5)

US and Europe will do well by staying out of the Middle East, where they have done more than enough damage in their ignorance and delusions of grandeur. Muslims must have modern education, so that future children could get jobs and feed a family. The Arabs can take initiative and bring about such a change in attitude as well as approach.

At the same time, it is wrong to make a sweeping remark while analyzing a situation. For instance the comment about Pakistan is misplaced. Bracketing it with failed states, may be due to insurgency in the country, is a myopic and narrow view. The Pakistan Army is world’s one of the most organized armies and is capable of handling any threat, internal or external.

It has eliminated most of the terrorist groups from the land of Pakistan.
