This has reference to Syed Shahabuddin’s series on the partition of India. Partition may not be an issue for the Pakistanis and Bangladeshis but it has remained an issue for us, the Indian Muslims, every single day of the past 65 years and probably will remain so for many decades to come. We are paying the price of partition every single day, especially in the north, east and west if not in the south but the scourge is reaching the south too. We have every right to question the wisdom of those who divided us, accepted “moth-eaten Pakistan” and selfishly left behind such a large community to suffer the consequences. Whatever their plight today out of their own making, their problem was solved but ours stays and gets complicated with the emergence of so many extremist Hindu outfits including terrorist ones during the past one or two decades.
