It’s good to see the authorities building many new flyovers across Jeddah city to ease traffic congestion, but what about the common man without a car who has to cross roads. We can only see a few old wooden bridges. Pedestrians are now crossing roads risking their lives.
On the eve of last Eid Al-Adha a woman with two infants were knocked down and all of them died on the spot while trying to cross the double-road in Aziziyah district across Kababish Restaurant on Amir Majed Street. Pedestrian flyovers are needed very badly across Jeddah and particularly in crowded areas. I hope this matter is taken seriously by the authorities to save the innocent lives. — Shamshad Ahmed, Jeddah
