The international community’s eerie silence over the plight of the Rohingya Muslims is a source of great concern. These people are considered one of the most persecuted communities in the world. Despite all the reports coming out of Myanmar, the international community has yet to swing into action to address the issue. These people are desperately trying to find a safe haven but nobody is accepting them. They are left to die either in their home country or out on the sea. Since the international community is not taking any action to address the issue, it should at least allow these unfortunate people to take refuge in other countries. I also urge the global media to take up the issue and highlight it effectively. Where is the United Nations? Exactly when will it swing into action? Perhaps, after the complete extinction of the Rohingyas.
