Some leaders in India sometimes go overboard. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal will be the best person to explain why he chose to wear sandals during a banquet hosted in honor of the French president in the Indian capital.

A businessman from Visakhapatnam sent Kejriwal some cash to buy formal shoes for such important events. It is difficult to question the businessman’s move, but 364 Indian rupees is a ridiculously low amount to buy decent shoes, unless he wants the CM to buy rubber shoes for the rainy season!

Jokes apart, leaders like Kejriwal should learn to change with the changing times, and stop behaving like the Father of the Nation. Gandhiji is too tall a figure to be compared with. If allegations of Kejriwal trying to gain publicity through his “sandals act” are true, then it is sad indeed. It is time Indian leaders rise above petty politics and behave in a way that projects the country in good light.
