It is very surprising that the murder of a Saudi female student in the United Kingdom has failed to grab the attention of western media. She was killed in cold blood. Had a Muslim been involved in the murder, the western media would have created uproar. They would have attacked Islam for the crime committed by an individual.

Such behavior stokes anti-western sentiments in the Muslim world. They are quick to generalize when it comes to Muslims or Islam. If western thinkers dig deeper into the causes of radicalization of Muslim societies across the globe, they would be surprised to find that their behavior toward Muslims contributes to the phenomenon. Their attitude makes it easier for certain demagogues in the Muslim society to further their personal agendas in the name of Islam.

I would like to clarify one thing here that when I mention West or westerners, it does not mean that I am blaming a common person living in the West. My target is the leadership and the intelligentsia. I have many westerner friends and we share so much in common at the human and intellectual levels. Truth be told, we have been made hostage to the whims and wishes of a select few.

The governments of western countries are responsible for creating an environment of hatred in the world. The media owned by business tycoons only think about profit making and they achieved their goal by sensationalyzing stories and distorting facts.
