I read with interest the article “Judicial harassment of Indian Muslims” (May 23) by S.N.M. Abdi. I would like to refer this article to all those Indian friends who immediately go on the defensive when somebody particularly from Pakistan comment or express his concern over the “plight” of their Muslim “brethren” in India. Our Indian friends start highlighting the problems being faced by Muslims in a “Muslim majority” country. Anyway, the article in question is proof enough that the claims of secularism in India are hollow and baseless. We don’t say that everything is fine in Pakistan but at least our Indian friends should not unnecessarily propagate false information just to prove their country’s superiority over Pakistan.
