This is with reference to the article “Effective project management is key to success” (Dec. 29) by Saad Al-Dosari. I always read with interest his articles. He raises very valid issues in his columns. I fully agree with the views of the writer as expressed in the article in question. It is very true that completion of a project should not be seen as success. If a project gets delayed causing budget fluctuation, it should be taken as failure and action should be taken against those responsible for the execution of the project. We don’t appear to be well-versed with the basic concepts of management. Even as individuals, we tend to lead our lives without proper management. In most developed nations, people value time. We, unfortunately, spend our time recklessly in useless activities.
