Pakistan can effectively fight terrorism by winning the confidence of its tribal people. The authorities should try to thoroughly discuss the issue with tribal elders and try to convince them to help the authorities hunt down unscrupulous foreign elements who have taken refuge in the tribal areas of Pakistan. The tribal people are very patriotic but the foreign fighters have been duped them into believing that they are fighting for Islam.
