Many people say that Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump’s statements about Muslims and other ethnicities living in the United States should not be taken seriously. They say that these are just tactics to make electoral gains and that he will change his tone if he makes it to the White House. That is a silly argument. Trump and the support he is gaining in the US points to a dangerous shift in a country, which was known for its freedom and liberal ideals.

Despite all analyses against the possibility of Trump’s win, I have a feeling that he is going to be the next president of the US. The response he is receiving from the electorate indicates the level of frustration among the masses and Trump has offered them a scapegoat or a punching bag to vent their anger. It is the oldest trick in the book. Such demagogues have always exploited similar situations by targeting a particular people or community as the one responsible for all woes of the masses. That is exactly what Trump is doing. I urge all the Americans to think twice before voting for this demagogue who knows nothing but hatred.
