This is with reference to the article “A happy augury” (May 2) by Salahuddin Haider. I fully agree with the views expressed by the writer. Undoubtedly, the Pakistan Army’s current leadership is playing a stabilizing role in the current political turmoil. It is very sad that our politicians every now and then indulge in undue criticism of the army. However, we cannot single out a particular leader. Almost every Pakistan leader has at some point in time has criticized the military.

It is good that our army has never left the politicians to do as they please. Our so-called leaders first need to prove their sincerity toward the country. Most of them have huge properties abroad and foreign bank accounts. They should prove their loyalty to the country by bringing back the money stashed away in tax havens abroad.
