In the aftermath of the Lahore attack, the western media was flooded with reports and statements expressing concern over the security of the minority communities in Pakistan. Minority communities are perfectly safe in Pakistan and don’t face problems or discrimination because of their faith.

Terror attacks or isolated incidents should not be taken as the basis to condemn Pakistan. It was not the first terror attack in Pakistan. Our country is the worst victim of terrorism. In most of the previous attacks, the targets were mostly Muslims. This time around they targeted mostly Christian Pakistanis probably to drive a wedge between the Christian and Muslim Pakistanis. Unfortunately, the western press easily fall prey to the terrorist propaganda.

Instead of leveling baseless allegations on Pakistan, the international community should commend Islamabad’s efforts against terrorism and should help the country effectively fight the menace.
