This is with reference to the report “KSA talks to unite Syrian opposition” (Nov. 21). It is very important for all those moderate Syrian groups fighting the dictator to forge unity among their ranks. Without putting up a joint front, they cannot achieve their goal. With the brutal Daesh entering the scenario, the moderate Syrian forces are facing double threats. It is correct that the situation has become precarious in Syria but it is never too late to take corrective measures.

Daesh is the B-team of the Syrian regime. It is not a conspiracy theory. It is evident from the actions of these terrorists that they are working for the Syrian regime, as it is the sole benefactor. With Daesh on the move in Syria, the world is reluctant to remove Assad from power, which means it is serving Assad’s interests.

Once the Syrians get united, it will be difficult for Assad to lay his claim on the leadership of the country.
