It is heartening to note that various groups in Libya have announced the formation of a unity government. It is important that all Libyan factions put aside their differences in the national interest. Libya used to be a financially stable country but now its people are being forced to flee the country in search of greener pastures, which is really sad. All Libyan factions should realize that fighting one another would not help their country and countrymen. Every group has to offer some sacrifice to achieve stability. They should act promptly before Libya turns into another Afghanistan. They should not rely on any foreign power to resolve their internal conflicts. Every foreign power will try to gain a foothold in Libya with an eye on its natural resources. Libyans should not allow colonization of their homeland.
