It is so depressing to watch and read about deaths and injustices on a daily basis. Despite global efforts, the menace of terrorism does not appear to die down.

Unfortunately, wrong policies of global powers have pushed the Middle East into turmoil. We cannot continue to dwell in the past but it would be pertinent to ask Bush, Blair and their allies about the much-trumpeted weapons of mass destruction in Iraq, which was the main reason behind the invasion of Iraq. Once known for its great civilization and interfaith harmony, the country has become a cauldron of chaos. Iraq was a country with zero-tolerance for terrorist groups but now it has become a breeding ground for different militias.

A wave of terror is sweeping across the Muslim world. The ideology of these terrorist organizations is beyond comprehension. One thing is, however, clear that these groups have nothing to do with Islam. It is high time the western powers made efforts to clear the mess they have created in the Middle East.

We live in a global village and no country could remain oblivious to the developments in other parts of the world. Our economic and social well-being are intertwined.
