This is with reference to the article “Delhi Kejriwalled: Lessons for Modi” (Feb. 11) by Syed Tausief Ausaf. It was a brilliant article wherein the author beautifully summarized the “achievements” of the BJP-led government. People who are still stunned by the Delhi election results should carefully go through this article to understand the causes of the embarrassing defeat of the so-called Modi wave. Actually, the saffron brigade got confused with the continuous electoral gains and started thinking that Indians, particularly the majority community, is supportive of its silly saffronization agenda. These elements miserably failed to understand the ground realities. It was the abysmal performance of the scandal-ridden previous government that worked in BJP’s favor. During the past few months, Indians realized their folly and rejected communal politics, as evident from Delhi poll results. The charge-sheet prepared by Syed Tausief Ausaf is comprehensive enough to expose the inefficiency of the BJP-led government and also indicates that the saffron brigade is living in a fool’s paradise. By voting Arvind Kejriwal to power, Indians have shown to the world that they vehemently oppose communal politics and are a secular people who will never allow any political force to threaten the social fabric of their country.

However, I don’t think that Modi or his aides will learn anything from this defeat. They can’t help it, as they are a brainwashed lot. They can never emerge as the true representatives of the true aspirations of Indians.

These fascist elements can never be trusted to lead India into a golden era of prosperity. Indians have got another political force to rely on. I hope that a similar trend will continue in elections in the remaining Indian states.
