This is with reference to the report “WhatsApp: The new dais for fake stories” (Feb. 3). What is the big deal about it? Isn’t it very normal? Every new technology is used in a similar way. WhatsApp is a convenient to use application and helps people stay connected. When e-mails were first introduced, people used to share or spread information through mails. The same is happening now. People who receive a piece of information are sane enough to verify it using other channels. It goes without saying that nobody instantly believes whatever he/she receives through e-mails or instant messaging services. There are various official and unofficial websites, people usually log on to for verification of various “rumors.”
