RCL Annual Prize Distribution held in Riyadh

Riyadh Cricket League organized its Annual Prize Distribution in Marhaba Banquet Hall Riyadh in a gala event attended by guests, businessmen, diplomats from Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh embassies, and RCL league teams and players. Khayyam Akbar, deputy head of mission at Pakistan Embassy, was the chief guest.
The proceedings started with the recitation of Holy Qur’an by Zakariya Hassen, Aasif Shaikh invited the guests at the stage, and in the absence of RCL President Mamoor Elahi the session was chaired by Jawad Khalifa, RCL patron, along with other Executive Committee members.
RCL activities presentation was made by Aasif Shaikh, COO RCL. It showed the development program for cricket during the season 2011-2012 and highlighted achievements such as new grounds, tournaments, media coverage, new sponsors etc. Details for the forthcoming new season 2012-2013 which will start in September concluded the presentation.
Razaur Rahman, RCL senior adviser, congratulated the Executive Committee for a successful season. He said RCL Committee exists due to the teams and without them cannot progress, and thanked the sponsors and media for supporting RCL and praised the efforts of Khalifa for helping RCL flourish. RCL Patron in Chief Prince Sultan bin Nasser bin Abdulaziz, he said, would grace the start of new season in a colorful function .
Khalifa thanked the teams for supporting the committee and congratulated the winners.
For his part, chief guest Akbar, a former cricketer during his student days, was delighted at the success of the event and spoke about his support for the love and passion of cricket with RCL. He congratulated the winning teams, players and RCL for organizing such an event. He suggested to have Inter Embassies Cricket Tournament for the veterans, which was later confirmed by Aasif Shaikh of RCL that it will be arranged during the new season.
RCL SVP Jawaid Munawar at the end of the program thanked the Chief Guest, Patron RCL and all the guests for attending the function and supporting RCL.
Runner-up and champion trophies were given to Metrofile, Mehran, Saudi Jaguar, Cricket Samarwa, Gujranwala and RSC Captains by Chief Guest Khayam Akber, Deputy Head of Mission Pakistan Embassy and RCL Pattron, Jawad Khalifa.
Other prizes handed out are as follows:
In Super League, prizes were given to Imran Khan of Metrofile Sixers, MOM Semi final Usman Shah of Mehran CC, Raja Ejaz of Mehran CC, MOM of Final. Best batsman Rizwan Manzoor of Jawar Al Jazira, Best bowler Abbas of Jawar Al Jazira and Player of the Tournament Abdul Wahid of Friends CC.
In Premier League-I, MOM Semifinals Kamran Rao of Saudi Jaguar, Abubaker of Cricket Samarwa, MOM final Mujahid of CS, Best batsman Nazim Siddiqui of Falcon, Best bowler Baber of Super CC and Player of the Tournament Rashid Mirza of Super CC. Youngest RCL player, Muhammed on debut of his first wicket in an over.
In Premier League-II, Mansoor of RSC, Waqar of Gujranwala, MOM of semifinals, Mansoor of RSC MOM Final. Best batsman Sanaullah of Black Caps CC, Best Bowler Mohammed Ashraf of Gujranwala and Player of Tournament Umer of Cricketers Club.
