JEDDAH: Three men have been arrested in Jeddah for sexually abusing a 17-year-old boy in a remote area recently.

The Al-Montazahat Police Station acted on a complaint by the victim that the three suspects sexually abused him, Jeddah police spokesman Abdul Atti Al-Quraishi was quoted as saying by local media on Saturday.

“Security men soon launched an investigation into the crime. Information gathered during the probe helped in the arrest of the three suspects,” he said.

The complainant has reportedly identified his assaulters, he said. “The suspects were transferred to specialized authorities for necessary procedures and action,” he added.

Details such as the citizenship of the boy who was abused and the arrested suspects could not be ascertained.

Incidents like these leave a deep scar on the psyche of the victims and if no counselling is done, they can even go into depression, said an expert.
