JEDDAH: A total of 30 tons of pastry wrappers and flour that are used for making Samosas and rolls and many other dishes were seized by Jeddah Municipality on Thursday.

Thamer Al-Zahrani, head of the Umm Al-Salam district municipality branch, said that the Jeddah municipality is taking all these efforts under the directions of Jeddah Mayor Hani Abu Ras.

Al-Zahrani said during such periodic visits of Umm Al-Salam municipality branch in Hazarat district, 30 tons of rotten and unhealthy samosa pastry wrappers, and chips that were going to be distributed at different shops and markets were impounded.

“He gave instructions to all the branches of Jeddah municipality to take intense periodic tours of public health shops during Ramadan and summer,” he said.

A few days ago, Jeddah Municipality, university branch, inspected the Binladin date market in the university district and closed 13 shops and confiscated two tons of contaminated stock, he said.
