Some 562,869 illegal expats have been deported since the start of the legalization campaign, local media said quoting data released by the Ministry of Interior.

A total of 576,698 irregular workers were arrested, while another 221,966 infiltrators were caught trying to enter into the Kingdom through Saudi land and sea borders.

Meanwhile, 13,829 foreign workers are still awaiting deportation at detention centers, the ministry said.

King Abdulaziz International Airport (KAIA) in Jeddah deported more than 44 percent of all deportees, followed by the Al-Tuwal Port in Jazan, which deported more than 28 percent of these illegals, and King Khalid International Airport (KKIA) in Riyadh, which sent home 18 percent of arrested expats, the report said.
