RIYADH: The General Directorate of Passports has imposed varying punishments on 63 citizens and residents for violation of rules and regulations in the Kingdom.

The offenders committed wrongdoing by transporting pilgrims without permission and violating Umrah regulations and also assisted unidentified infiltrators and knowingly or unknowingly helped them, a local report said, quoting the General Directorate of Passports.

The penalties imposed on the offenders include jail, fines and confiscation of vehicles used in violating the rules.

The General Directorate of Passports said the penalties were imposed in accordance with the directives by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Naif.

The general directorate urged all citizens and residents as well as business establishments to avoid harboring infiltrators or violators of the regular residence and work or covering for them.

It also urged them to refrain from providing any means of assistance to them in finding jobs, accommodation or transfer to evade the law.

The offenders include Ahmed Ibrahim (Egyptian), Ghalib Hasan Olayyan Al-Qurashi, Raad Saad Al-Hazali, Bandar Saad Al-Thibaiti, Dasam Said Al-Subaie, among others.

Ibrahim, a resident of Taif, was guilty of transporting pilgrims without permission. Penalties imposed on him include SR50,000, imprisonment for 15 days and defamation.

Al-Qurashi of Makkah was guilty of transporting pilgrims without permission and given 15-day imprisonment and defamation.

Raad Saad Al-Hazali, a Makkah resident, was fined SR40,000 fine, besides confiscation of the vehicle used and defamation.

Al-Thibaiti of Madinah was guilty of providing transport of people without Haj permits. His penalties include SR30,000 fine, the confiscation of the vehicle used and defamation.

Al-Subaie was found guilty of providing transport to pilgrims without permit. His penalties include a fine of SR50,000, 15-day imprisonment and confiscation of the vehicle used.
