The Human Resources Development Fund (HRDF) plans to boost employment in the Kingdom by making 7,000 jobs available for Saudis through an online job fair.

Labor Ministry spokesman Tayseer Al-Mufrej said that the “eLiqaat” virtual job fair would be open for a period of four days beginning Thursday.

The online employment program is being held for the third consecutive year, Al-Mufrej said, adding that around 50 private sector companies are willing to take on locals in progressive ventures. “This is a good opportunity for job seekers to get in touch with prospective employers through the online service,” he said.

Al-Mufrej also added that the service is open to both men and women throughout the Kingdom.

“We have also sent e-mails to anyone registered with the Ministry of Labor seeking employment opportunities,” the official said.

He explained that the main idea is to help job seekers find suitable jobs from the comfort of their homes.

According to Al-Mufrej, the site will provide an opportunity for employers and employees to interact with each other, while expanding employment prospects among Saudis since private sector establishments have positions in various fields and disciplines.
