Security forces arrested eight people in Tamir, 140 km northwest of Riyadh, recently for terrorist activities, the Ministry of Interior said. Among the arrested were women accused of involvement in terrorist activities, as well as organizing women’s groups linked to Al-Qaeda.

Official sources said that four of those arrested were classified as “dangerous” due to their close links to groups outside the Kingdom and their extremist ideologies.

Among the individuals captured in Tamir was a prominent figure known for his extremist ideology. He was accompanied by a woman and two teachers named “Abu Osama Al-Abdullah” and “Abu Hadeefa,” as well as one of his sons, who was previously an inmate in a Saudi prison, Interior Ministry sources said.

Another one of the suspects in the cell was described as the head of the Al-Qaeda in Najd. He has seven children, two of whom have been fighting with extremist groups outside the Kingdom for years, while the others accompany him on his visits to several provinces.

Four of those arrested recruited 35 people between the ages of 20 and 25 from families in Tamir, the sources said.
