The Riyadh municipality has deployed 9,733 staff members, including inspectors, drivers and laborers, and over 1,700 machines to clean up the capital's neighborhoods for the Eid Al-Adha holidays.

The municipality has also made extensive efforts to make sure that public buildings and areas are ready for the holidays. This includes slaughterhouses, markets, mosques, parks, gardens, guesthouses and wedding halls.

The municipality will distribute 50,000 large garbage bags and 100,000 smaller ones for vehicles. As part of its awareness campaign, it would also distribute 50,000 pamphlets and 50,000 guidebooks.

To help ease congestion on the roads and prevent violations, the traffic department has deployed 1,300 personnel, including undercover officers.

Col. Ali Al-Qahtani, acting traffic head, said there would be a massive presence of officers at mosques, musallahs, the city's main thoroughfares, squares and intersections.
