JEDDAH: Saudi security authorities arrested two women, accompanying six children on April 17, 2014, when they were crossing the southern border to Yemen to join in terrorist operations. One of these women, Mai Abdul Rahman Al-Talq, is the sister of detained terrorist Abdullah bin Abdul Rahman Al-Talq, who wasn’t even 15 years old at the time.

The Interior Ministry has confirmed his association with Daesh which was involved in the blast at Imam Ali bin Abi Taleb Mosque at Al-Qadeeh village in Qatif on Friday.

Mai had taken him along with five other children and another woman, named Amina Rashed, to leave Qassim for Yemen and then head to Syria to join terrorist organizations. Saudi securities authorities apprehended the group and handed Abdullah Al-Talq to his father.

The Interior Ministry foiled the attempt of Mai Al-Talq and her colleague Amina Rashid to leave for Yemen after they had set up a plan to attract their relatives by telling them that they were heading to Buraidah for picnic.

Mai tempted his brother Abdullah, who was 14 at the time, while Amina Rashid attracted another child, who is the son of her sister, and asked her ex-husband for picking up her son, who lives with his father, from his school on Thursday, under the pretext of taking him with her to Buraidah and returning him to his father’s house on Saturday.

Mai and her friend Aminah Rashed headed with their six children to Sebia province, in Jazan, and then moved under darkness to the Saudi-Yemeni borders to meet three Yemeni smugglers, from Houthi tribes, before the Saudi Border Guard arrested the two women, their six children and the three Yemeni smugglers. The Border Guard found with the two women money and a large quantity of jewelry, while the children were in a panic due to darkness and the rugged topography.

Saudi security provided medical care and specialist doctors to the women and children and informed their families of their whereabouts.

The two women were involved with a number of protests in Buraidah in 2013 and they were detained for investigation before Crown Prince Mohammed bin Naif ordered to release them with other women.

However, Crown Prince Mohammed also provided an airplane to transport their families from Qassim region to Jazan to meet with the two women and six children after they were arrested in Saudi Yemeni borders. While the two women confirmed to their families that they receive high medical services and necessary care by the security authorities.

The two women’s parents succeeded in taking their children, including Abdullah Al-Talq, in the presence of human rights representatives, and returned to Buraidah.

However, after full year, Abdullah Al-Talq joined a terrorist group and was arrested last month after he had been linked to targeting a security patrol in Riyadh.
