The Mohammed Al-Saed Al-Tayeb Gallery in honor of one of Saudi Arabia’s best known journalists and writers was thrown open to the public during a one-day conference organized by the Jeddah College of Advertising (JCA) on Thursday.

The concluding session of the workshop included a documentary on the life of Al-Tayeb and his achievements. The presentation included pictures, readings, and comments from his companions like Lad Madani, Talal Delimi, Abduallah Al-Jubir and others, who themselves are remarkable figures in Saudi Arabia’s intellectual and business world.

Munir Al-Saeed, dean of the Advertising Faculty, said: “The gallery, because of its importance, will not be used as a lecture room, except for workshops. The inauguration of the gallery coincides with the launch of the advertising department in the college,” he said.

The JCA is affiliated to the University of Business and Technology (UBT) following a collaborative agreement between the Buckinghamshire New University and the UBT, and provides education in the field of advertising business and related areas.

The conference, held under the theme “Advertising in the Digital Age,” included discussions on advertising in general and its implications in Saudi Arabia, its challenges, future, and the importance of advertising at a global level. The choice of speakers facilitated discussions to take a global perspective, giving the participants the opportunity to understand the field from different angles.

The program also included presentation of achievements of students of JCA, both male and females, over the past year.
