In 1936, brothers Abdul Aziz and Mohammed Abdullah Aljomaih founded Aljomaih Company, a small trading establishment in the town of Shaqra, 200km away from Riyadh.

Four years later, the brothers moved their business to the capital itself. It was part of a strategic move, since this market was going through a dynamic period of growth and diversification. Within ten years, two branch offices had been established in Jeddah and Dammam.

Over the years, Aljomaih assumed a leading role in the import and distribution of cars, tires, lubricants, and specialized equipment for construction and agriculture.

They also entered into partnerships with several global companies like Shell Oil, Yokohama Tires, Pepsi-Cola and MAN Diesel & Turbo. Many of these partnerships endure even today.

In 1967, Aljomaih became an agent for General Motors and automotive dealerships were opened in the main cities of the Central, Western, and Eastern regions of the Kingdom. During the 1970s and 80s, the quest for expansion and further opportunities to diversify the business continued by opening dealerships in almost every city and town of the Kingdom. Currently, Aljomaih Auto Co. is the largest GM Dealer in the Middle East.

Around the turn of century, Aljomaih once again refined its strategy to focus on the Kingdom’s deregulation and outstanding economic growth by entering several new business sectors: telecommunications, power and water, oil and gas, and petrochemicals.

Today, the Aljomaih Group has become a regional leader in each of its key business sectors.

The company started discussions in 2000 with SANY, one of the largest manufacturers of Construction Machinery in the world, and successfully signed an agreement with it in 2009.

SANY construction machinery has been growing rapidly in manufacturing and distributing its products all over the world.
